Most AI tools now run a startup program, and the useful ones are easy to confuse because they measure eligibility differently. ElevenLabs counts employees, Fireflies counts how much you have raised, Typeform looks at funding and revenue, Novita AI wants venture backing, and Vast.ai only pays back what you have already spent. If you apply to the wrong one, you lose a week waiting for a rejection.
We went through six programs on the vendors' own pages. Below is what each one gives, the limits that decide whether you qualify, and how the credit actually reaches your account.
The six programs at a glance
- ElevenLabs: 12 months of the Scale plan and 33,000,000 characters, for companies with fewer than 25 employees.
- Murf: $1,500 in API credits over 3 months, for companies under 10 years old with fewer than 100 employees.
- Novita AI: up to $10,000 in credits, for venture-backed AI startups at Series B or earlier.
- Fireflies.ai: 6 months of the Business plan free, for startups that raised less than $5M and were incorporated in the last 5 years.
- Typeform: 75% off the Business plan for a year, for seed-stage startups under $1 million in funding and revenue.
- Vast.ai: GPU spend matched in credits, dollar for dollar, up to a limit Vast.ai sets.
Voice: ElevenLabs startup grant
The ElevenLabs startup grant gives approved companies 12 months of the Scale plan plus 33,000,000 characters of usage. It ends after 12 months or when the characters run out, whichever comes first, and the account then moves to the Free plan.

The limit is headcount: fewer than 25 employees when ElevenLabs receives the application. You also need a business email and a long-term product with a business or monetization plan. Agencies, consultancies and SMBs are excluded, as are products aimed at users 18 or under, and each company can apply once. ElevenLabs says it replies within about a week.
Voice API: Murf Startup Incubator
Murf's program is narrower and shorter. The Murf Startup Incubator Program gives approved startups $1,500 in credits for the Murf API, to use over a 3-month period.

The bar for eligibility is wider than ElevenLabs on headcount and age: the company must be incorporated less than 10 years ago, have fewer than 100 employees, a fully working website and a valid use case for the API. Startups that plan to resell the Murf API do not qualify. The 3-month window is the real constraint. Apply when you are ready to build, not when you are still sketching the product.
Model APIs and sandboxes: Novita AI
The Novita AI startup program has the largest headline number, up to $10,000, but most of it is earned rather than given. The program is for venture-backed, AI-native startups at Series B or earlier that are new to Novita.

How the $10,000 is paid
- Up to $1,000 in credits upfront.
- The next $5,000 is matched 1:1: every dollar you spend earns one dollar in credit.
- For the final $4,000, every two dollars you spend earn one dollar in credit.
Credits are split across Novita's products, up to $5,000 for Agent Sandbox and up to $5,000 for Model APIs, and they can be redeemed for one year. Novita reviews stage, team, current spend, backing, traction and expected usage, so amounts are set case by case. If you are not venture-backed, look at Novita's standard $100 in Sandbox credits for new users instead.
Meeting notes: Fireflies.ai for Startups
The Fireflies.ai startup offer gives 6 months of the Business plan free, with unlimited seats and 10,000 AI credits for the whole team.

Fireflies looks at funding and company age: you must have raised less than $5M in total and been incorporated within the last 5 years. Fireflies says applications are reviewed within 48 hours, which makes it the quickest decision on this list. Unlimited seats matter more than they sound. Most meeting tools charge per person, so a team of ten gets far more out of this offer than a solo founder.
Forms: Typeform startup discount
Typeform does not give credits. Its startup discount takes 75% off the Business plan for a full year.

All four criteria have to be true: a seed-stage startup, less than $1 million in funding, less than $1 million in lifetime revenue, and not an existing Typeform customer. That last point means you should apply before you start a paid plan, not after. The discount is only available on yearly billing and does not cover Enterprise plans.
GPU compute: Vast.ai Startup Program
Vast.ai is the odd one out. Its startup program has no upfront credit at all. Once approved, Vast.ai matches your verified GPU spend in credits, dollar for dollar, up to a cap it sets based on your company stage and use case. Spend $1,000 and you get $1,000 back in credits.

Vast.ai says plainly that the program is meant for teams already training or serving models. If you are still deciding whether you need GPUs, this will not help yet. If you already rent compute every month, a 1:1 match effectively halves your bill up to the cap.
Which program fits which startup
- Tiny team, building a voice product: ElevenLabs first. The 25-employee limit and the product requirement are the only real hurdles.
- Older company with a voice API use case: Murf, since it accepts companies up to 10 years old and up to 100 staff.
- Venture-backed and running models in production: Novita AI for APIs and sandboxes, Vast.ai for raw GPU time. Both reward spend you would have made anyway.
- Bootstrapped or pre-seed, small team: Fireflies and Typeform. Neither asks for venture backing, and both decide on funding limits you can state in one line.
Why startup applications get rejected
Most rejections in these programs come from a few predictable gaps rather than from the product itself. Going by the conditions each vendor publishes, these are the ones to check before you press submit:
- Personal email address. ElevenLabs asks for a business email, and Murf wants a fully working website. A Gmail address and a placeholder landing page make an application look like a side project.
- Wrong company type. ElevenLabs excludes agencies, consultancies and SMBs, and Murf excludes startups that plan to resell its API. If you build for clients, say clearly which product you own.
- Already a customer. Typeform's discount is only for startups that are not existing customers, and Novita's program is for new Novita users. Apply before you subscribe.
- Too early for the program. Vast.ai matches spend you have already made, and Novita pays most of its credits against usage. Neither helps a team that has not started running workloads.
- Limits stated vaguely. Headcount, total funding, lifetime revenue and incorporation date are the numbers these reviews turn on. Write them down exactly as they are, because a reviewer who has to guess will usually say no.
Plan the order you apply in
Several of these programs run for a fixed period from the day they start: 12 months at ElevenLabs, 3 months at Murf, 6 months at Fireflies and a year at Typeform. Starting all of them in the same week means they also end together, often before the product has users. A better order is to apply for the tools you need to build first, such as the voice or model APIs, and leave meeting notes and forms until you have a team and customers to talk to. Novita's credits can be redeemed for one year, so there is some slack there, and the Vast.ai match only starts counting once you spend.
Keep a simple note of each program's start date and end date. When a free period ends, ElevenLabs moves the account to its Free plan, while discounts like Typeform's return to the standard price on the next renewal. Knowing the dates in advance gives you time to decide whether to keep paying or move elsewhere.
How we checked
Every program links to its page on TaskPanel, where we keep the official source, the quote we verified and the application steps with screenshots. Startup programs change often and some have caps that the vendor sets per company, so read the official page linked from each deal before you apply, and apply from the account you plan to keep.
